I wonder if you or any net surfer has stayed at or knows anything about the Maui Kai on Kaanapali Beach? My husband and I are planning to stay there in February to celebrate out 25th wedding anniversary.

The Maui Kai is a nice place. I haven't stayed there but I have heard good things about it. The view is great. The stretch of beach right in front can be rocky, but off to the one side it's really nice. If you rent from management you can sometimes get a room that some might not consider adequate (like all condos) but if you rent from the owner you can know which unit you are going to get first and be sure it's nice.

Any reviews of the Koa Resort in Kihei? Do you think AC is required in April?

Average place, but one word: roaches. Mainly in the cupboards, but also in the bathroom and bedroom. We were spraying daily and still killing them at the end of our week. We've stayed in Hawaii a lot and know roaches are a fact of life, but never like this. Never again.

Since your review of the Maui Mana Kai the building has had a $5 M renovation and most of the rooms have been renovated too. So it is a even better value
